Comprehensive Growth Plan 2045

The second meeting about the Comprehensive Growth Plan 2045 was November 6, 2025. Residents were asked about their preferences and we did a short exercise where we wrote suggestions and “voted” with poker chips.

Something that I’ll work on is to get more people to give input during opportunities like these. I think (this is anecdotal!) that we didn’t have enough renters and new residents in attendance. I’d like to hear the reasons why people recently moved here and what they will need and expect as they join us.

One data point (second photo) that caught my eye was the decline in enrollment in Roswell’s Fulton County Schools (-12.8% in the last 15 years). That data is supported by the declining share of children under 15 (-14%). I’d like to get analysis on the reasons. Our children grew up here and loved it, and we want more to share that experience.

Another interesting data point (third photo) is the age of Roswell’s population. Ages 65+ grew 78% in the last 15 years. We need to support them with aging in place policies and make sure new generations have a chance to contribute to our area’s economy.
